Park Operations
Hello ladies! I am so excited and honored to be one of your MOPS coordinator’s again this year. I hope to get to know you all a bit better and help you through your “adventure” of mothering young children.
Speaking of adventure, life is an adventure as is motherhood. Lately the “roller coaster” that life is taking me on is one I call busyness….which leads to stress….which leads to depression….which leads to a lack of spiritual bonding with God. Many of you may find yourselves on the same “roller coaster”. How can we stop the whirl wind we find ourselves in and get off the ride of busyness? Matthew 11:28-30 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” WOW! Doesn’t that sound amazing?! It makes me feel calm, peaceful, rested just by reading it. All God asks is that we come to Him….spend time with Him in prayer, worship Him by song, be with Him in solitude, and He will give us rest. As mothers of preschoolers we never get enough physical rest, and if you are like me, busyness keeps us from having spiritual rest. I challenge you to find time for God and see how much rest He will give you. Let Him carry your burdens for you and see how much lighter you will feel. I pray that you will all feel a bit more refreshed and rested after being here today as well. May God bless you all!

Updates!
Our new MOPS year is off to a great start. Besty Kniffin opened the year as a guest speaker. She humored us as well as challenged us to understand what our children are teaching us as well as what we are teaching them.
Our second meeting featured a devotional about friendship and flowers given by mentor mom Lori Neuberger. She also taught us how to make a fall flower basket.
We're excited about some of the up coming events we're having at MOPS. The fall auction will be coming up this month. There will be more details coming at our meeting next week. The steering team members will also be sharing about the MOPS Convention in Dallas, Texas that they recently attended. You won't want to miss out. And last but not least our creative activities leader will be teaching us how to make another craft. I'm sure it will be lots of fun.
We're looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Come Join the Adventure with US!
This theme equips moms to learn more about themselves as they go through the adventure of motherhood. They will celebrate and embrace the fun in the experiences, even in the midst of daily mom life that stretches them emotionally and spiritually.
For the Adventures in Mothering is an amusement park. With the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of the amusement park, motherhood might feel like a sensory overload. But this MOPS group will enjoy this together and learn more about themselves as women, moms and leaders.
The theme verse for Adventures in Mothering is
Ephesians 3:18: “…how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”
The dimensions of this verse express how God is with us in our mothering adventure.
As the year unfolds, your MOPS group will examine the practical aspects of the theme and then move toward spiritual truth. The knowledge that God is with us on the mothering adventure gives hope.
God’s love is big enough for the magnitude of the adventure!

WHAT is MOPS?
MOPS groups are communities that strive to meet the needs of every mom with children from birth through kindergarten. MOPS recognizes that urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be. MOPS groups can help!
Our MOPS group meets on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each MONTH during the school year.
Our MOPS group meets at Norwalk Alliance Church, 2755 Rt 250 South, Norwalk, OHIO ,44857
MOPS groups are chartered through local faith-based organizations. While each group is different, the MOPS program is built on several foundational principles:
Community: MOPS provides an open, caring, and accepting atmosphere where women can come together to share this important season of life.
Mentoring: Mature women listen, encourage, and offer information and perspectives gained through experience.
Practical Instruction: Teaching focuses on areas of common interest, offering inspiration and information that is relevant to the life of a mother.
Leadership Development: MOPS groups are organized and run by mothers of preschoolers, as well as for mothers of preschoolers. Women who are involved in MOPS gain confidence in their leadership skills through the training and experience they receive from MOPS.
The above principles can be carried out through different aspects of a MOPS group:
Discussion: The intimate and accepting atmosphere of a small group offers moms a chance to share their successes, failures, questions, and concerns. It is during these times that a mom realizes that she is not alone, and lifelong friendships are formed.
Speakers: Topics presented at MOPS meetings celebrate motherhood and meet a mom's unique needs during this season of life.
Creative Activities: Through creative projects and presentations, women are encouraged to experience the sense of accomplishment that comes with trying and finishing new things.
MOPPETS: During MOPS meetings, children are cared for in a program called MOPPETS, where they experience love in a preschool-like setting.
